A little idea for Blizzcon……..

So I have an actual project in process for Blizzcon, even though I wont be able to go myself.

Making this priesty outfit for a fellow WOW priesty player to wear at the con.

Vestments of Prophecy (Recolor)

Still working out the exact details and construction.

Have some lovely grey rayon in my stash already for the over dress, and went to the local fabric depot and got some fantastic royal blue crepe for the under dress.

Plan to do this in a couple pieces.

Starting with a basic medieval cotehardie type shape dress for the under gown in the royal blue from this pattern and will add gold detailing.

Then will make a silver/grey overdress with gold details altering this pattern.

May need to add some type of an apron/belt piece for those front and back parts that are peeking out in the grey/silver.

simp dress

Will then need to add some dark blue/gold bracers, shoulder/mantle armor piece and a headpiece/collar.

Will post some more once I have cut into the fabric and gotten started.

Have about a month to finish and ship it off.

Still need to decide exactly how I will construct those last armor pieces so they can handle being shipped about and still remain stable and retain their shape……

So a bit of progress done. I got the blue under gown completed…………I like the pretty hem trimmings.

I also did my first attempt at casting resin gems. Was a little harder than I expected to get the gems out of the molds, I ended up having to cut the molds away to get them out. Was a little unhappy about that since it means those molds cannot be used again. It scratched up the surface a touch, but that was easy to buff away with some sand paper. I also wasn’t too happy with the dyes I got, the color out of the cast was a very light grey/blue. However, following the advise of fellow cos players I painted the backs with a dark blue nail polish. I think they look pretty snazzy. Just need to figure out the whole getting em out of a mold better.

Vestments inprogress (3) You can’t even tell in the pics that these were barely blue without the back’s painted.

Though I will need to make another set of each size for the shoulders.

So about time I finish this post, since it is long since I finished this project.

So here are some pics of this finished outfit.

I also made a little book off hand to match. This was a book shaped box from Micheal’s. I bought some scrapbook supplies and covered it to match the color of the outfit.

And last but not least a couple images of my friend wearing it at Blizzcon. Doesn’t she look great!!
